Family & Friends

Do you have a friend or family member who is a gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, or questioning (LGBTQ) youth? Maybe you want to support them, but don’t know how. You can be supportive just by referring them to Youth Outlook. We provide programs that are geared specifically to the things they care about—coming out, school safety, creating social networks, college, dating, health, and more.

Youth Outlook also welcomes straight allies to our programs, so friends of LGBTQ youth are encouraged to attend group meetings with them.

For families, we have quarterly Family Information Nights so that parents, siblings, and friends can meet Youth Outlook staff and youth leaders. This important interaction helps families understand what their child is going through and that they are in a safe place when they are with Youth Outlook.

If you have a specific concern facing an LGBTQ youth in your life, please explore the resource links on this page.
